CollegeHumor is seeking a Temporary Flash Developer for a 3-5 month period.
You will work with our small talented team of developers on a number of
large high profile websites which include: CollegeHumor,
TodaysBIGthing, SportsPickle, Dorkly as well as contribute to a number
of internal tools and services. Collectively our sites reach over 12
million users every month.
Overview of Role:
CollegeHumor is seeking an ambitious, well-rounded Flash Developer to
temporarily take over development and maintenance of our homegrown video
player. You need to think like a user, be passionate about coding and
excited to build and iterate features that impact millions of people.
This role will be responsible for everything Video and Flash on
CollegeHumor and its sister sites while our current Flash developer is
on leave. The candidate will train with our Flash developer to get up to
speed with our video player. The candidate will be managing the video
players for all sites, adding cutting-edge features into the Flash
codebase, and using JavaScript to deeply interact with the page around
it. This role will work with our ad operations team to integrate ad and
stat systems into the framework.
The candidate must enjoy working in a fast paced environment with small agile
development teams.
Requirements: Fluent in Actionscript 3 and OO programming. Experience
developing an online video player or an online video application of comparable
complexity. Experience integrating Flash components with both AS3 and JS-based
APIs. Knowledge of MVC or related code frameworks and experience with a
moderately sized codebase. Ability to convert Photoshop mockups into
pixel-precise and optimized Flash graphics as necessary. Experience working
with plugins or external APIs. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript (PHP a
plus).
