Hi all, I am including jodaTime as the time framework in a new application, but we need to persist objects in the database. The Hibernate Support project includes support for PersistentTimeOfDay, but since the class is deprecated in favor of LocalTime, I was about to write an EnhancedUserType for LocalTime and Duration and contribute both.
The question is, my idea is to persist the Duration as the milliseconds value, but I am not sure about what to do with LocalTime. Using milliseconds of the day sounds good, but (a) it's much harder to restore the LocalTime value from the SQL value, and (b) it's harder to read by visual inspection of the database. My second idea was to use a "hh:MM:ss.mmm" format, persisted as a String. I need some feedback :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
