You might be interested in Quartz, http://www.opensymphony.com/quartz/
It can schedule jobs using cron strings.

Subject: [Joda-interest] Cron expressions

Hi,

Does joda-time has some support for cron-like expressions?
Basically I would like to have a component with a method:
DateTime result = cronCalculcator.getNextMatch(currentDateTime, "* 3 * *");
and then 'result' would be the next datetime that matches the cron-expression,
in this case 3 o'clock at night.
I know it's not this difficult to write it myself, but it would be nice if
joda-time could offer this component out of the box.
Are there any plans to write such a component as part of joda-time?

I need this to create a cron-like scheduler using the J2EE TimerService.

Regards,
Frank.
