Massimiliano,
Is there a need to have the library installed within the JBoss runtime
directly?
We've been using Joda Time with JBoss for a couple of years now. Our
JBoss versions have ranged from 4.0.1 thru 4.0.4. Currently, we are
working on upgrading to JBoss 4.2.1 w/JDK 1.5.0_12 and have not had any
problems. We are currently using Joda Time 1.4, but have used Joda Time
1.1,1.2.1, etc without problems.
We deploy our application within an EAR file that contains both an EJB jar
and WAR. The joda-time library is stored within the EAR file in a /lib
subfolder. Then the WAR and EJB jars reference the joda-time library in a
'Class-path:' attribute within their MANIFEST.MF file. The MANIFEST.MF
file looks something like the following:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5
Created-By: 1.5.0_12-b04 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
.
.
.
Class-Path: lib/joda -time-1.4.jar
Then when the EAR is deployed within the JBoss application server, it uses
the Joda-time library that is contained within the EAR. The nice part
about doing it this way is that if we have multiple applications running
under the same JBoss instance, then they can each use their own version of
Joda-time without any conflicts.
Hope this helps!

Re: [Joda-interest] Problem using Joda with JBoss
Are you using the latest version of Joda-Time, v1.4? Other than that,
I'm not sure I can help you with JBoss setup!
