this is based on true events. the girl next door is based upon a novel by jack ketchum which he based on those true events. i have read ketchum's noovel but have not scene this movie. a few weeks ago i watched an american crime(i think) which was another flick based upon these events, released the same year. the people that did an american crime used court transcripts as the primary source material. disturbing, to say the leasst.
