Assalamu alaykum
This year we are trying to organize the 1st regional conference on
Linux and Open Source Applications with proceedings. (around April 15,
2007). Participants
can present papers and/or workshops and/or talk about any open source
application. The papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the
Conference program committee and eventually by reviewers from relevant
research communities.
The papers will be published in the IEEE Proceedings, which will be
distributed to all conference attendees in CDrom.
The Conference's topics are and not limited to:
The efficient use of Linux and Open Sources Applications in:
· Education:

o How Linux and Open Source applications can be used to improve learning
and enhance students' competencies

o How lecturer can use Linux and Open Applications to make their
lectures more motivating and interesting.

o How educational institutions can use Linux Open Applications to save
money and to optimize the use of their resources


· Research: How researchers can use Linux and very sophisticated
applications in their research

· Business: Several Giant companies worldwide are using Linux and Open
source applications to run their business

· Art and entertainment: the use of Linux and Open source applications
to develop artistic multimedia productions.

Of course if you have any other subject to add you are welcome.

I am looking for suggestions and contributions in organization (call for
papers..) and so on.

Please spread the word to anybody interested in the Linux /OS Applications.
