You need to get your hands dirty with Linux.
Go to courses if you wish, get a book or two to help, but make sure to get a copy of Linux and install it on a system, or through Vmware if you don't have a spare system. Get your hands in it, mess it up, reinstall it, get to know all the commands, file types, content, file/directory heirarchy, kernel, and anything else mentioned in the certification and more. Keep in mind you can always ask for help and support in JoLUG, forums (linuxquestions.org), channels (irc.freenode.net #redhat, #linux, etc..).
