Hi all, Hope you're all good.. I recently had a talk with Abdallah in our last -brief- LUG meeting about what we should be doing to go about making new posters and/or flyers for JOLUG (both English and Arabic). My understanding is that the posters would be geared at introducing people to GNU/Linux, and where to go in Jordan if they want to know more about it, or even get some basic help.
I'd seen similar things on other LUG websites, they tend to take the form of templates, so that anyone can just reuse them whenever the opportunity arises, you'd just fill in the blanks, and Boom! you got a nifty poster to go. We didn't really come to any agreements on what the final product would look like, so all suggestions (and possibly contributions) are more than welcome. I've agreed to take ownership of the initiative, which means I get to take the blame if the thing crashes and burns. Ill be putting together a "draft" requirement list soon. Everybody will get the chance to see it, and suggest changes to if they so desire. Once we're done with it. we'll set out for an implementation that meets it. We could keep the -short- requirement list archived, so that we change the templates we produce accordingly if we happen to change the purpose of the posters in the future. What I would be hoping for now, is for responses from people who have genuine interest in helping out.. Anybody wants to jump on-board? :) Salam, -- Saleh M.
