you’d know what I mean)

It is a good and well known O.S book “Operating System Concepts”

I feel that you could benefit from understanding the different concepts that 
are mentioned
in that book to give you a clear idea about how scheduling, tasking, resource 
sharing..etc
are handled. 

If memory serves me, the book talks about Windows and Linux in some sections.

 

Faisal your B12 is better than mine you can remember if it talked about Linux
