Or I would suggest you buy the infamous “Dinosaur book” (well if u went to PSUT you’d know what I mean)
It is a good and well known O.S book “Operating System Concepts” (http://www.amazon.com/Operating-System-Concepts-Windows-Update/dp/0471250600) I feel that you could benefit from understanding the different concepts that are mentioned in that book to give you a clear idea about how scheduling, tasking, resource sharing..etc are handled. If memory serves me, the book talks about Windows and Linux in some sections. Faisal your B12 is better than mine you can remember if it talked about Linux as well hehe… From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Al-Faisal El-Dajani Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2009 3:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [JoLUG-General] Re: multi task Read the following articles, they'll provide information about what you want to know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_multitasking http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Context_switch On Thu, Mar 12, 2009 at 1:45 PM, m kalil <[email protected]> wrote: OK from what see Thar's no more than one process run on one CPU and it use the scheduling but what if Thar's an operation depend on an other one like package dependency but the main one is not ready yet does it loos time to return the first one and take the last then retake the first one it will be too slow. b the way it was me -- Al-Faisal El-Dajani No virus found in this incoming message.
