Olivier,

You are not alone.  We have been moderately successful using Sun JDK 1.2.2 and 1.3 beta with RedHat 6.1 and 6.2.   Our main problem is that the JDK will core dump (signal 11) occasionally and spontaneously (we have unscientifically been blaming this on our Athlon   getting too hot since we have not had such problems on our Pentium based server).

We are crossing our finders that Sun releases the non-beta 1.3 soon!  Regardless, we have developed under J2EE and could port easily to a commercial or other open source if things do not improve.  We could even reach into our pockets (very deep) and find the cash for a real Solaris server.

Regards,
-Bill.

Yesterday night, I tried to move from JDK 1.2.2 RC4 from Blackdown to JDK1.3
IBM for Linux. I made this experiment to see whether IBM's JDK is faster.
Nevertheless, I had a problem when the Naming Service started : Jonas could
not load a stub for the Naming service during a rebind operation.

I have several questions:
Has anyone tested Joans with IBM's JDK 1.3 for Linux?
Am I alone with this problem?
What JVM under Linux? Blackdown seems to work well but it is not known as a
fast JVM.

Thanks in advance.
