Thanks Philippe. I didn't generate my RemoteObject.java from
RemoteObject.jpp: instead I decompiled it from JEREMIE_jonas.jar then
modified and rebuilt it, and put it before JEREMIE_jonas.jar in the
classpath.  (It does work!)

My policy is to only use full releases and patch them as necessary, so I'll
stick with my class but change the property name to jonas.orb.port  so that
it will work with 2.2.5. And I'll change the default value to 0 as you
describe. If anyone else doesn't want to rebuild the full server, this
approach does work.
