Hi Philippe, exist one way of simulation network card, in other word
install the TCP/IP protocol without have one card network of the follow
way:

Install WIN95 with network

1) go to the control panel to network
2) add adaptor "MICROSOFT" > "dial-up Adaptor"
3) add protocol "MICROSOFT" > "TCP/IP"
4) double click on "TCP/IP" and set IP address to a valid IP number
5) Reboot system

next

test with c:\ping localhost and it's OK

you can proof JBoss, JOnas, Jakarta, this way of bypassear the card
network is funny

thanks

P.D: WIN98 is the same way and for NT exist Looplocal

> There is one additional thing that has to be cleared: Even if client
and server are on the same machine, you need an IP address. If you do
not have a network card, your system does not have an IP address, since
that are assigned to that cards. I do not know if RMI can work without
IP address; Jaime, maybe you just try it and let us know? :-)
