What can I say? Repeated listenings definitely help. A lot of what I originally felt
remains the same...the awful is still awful, and I won't go there. But I DID warm up a
bit to Chaka's stuff, and I've always thought that Vernon Reid & band were excellent!
Of course, when Joni comes out and sings/scats on "Help Me", it's magical and well
worth the wait.
Definitely would say 2 years later that the proficient outweighs the deficient! ;~)
