Saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch last night. See it. As amazing as the stage version. Hedwig got its start as a performance piece at Fez, where Joni has played, as has John Kelly and the fabulous Lady Bunny, cofounder of Wigstock. In the new Advocate there is a story about the final Wigstock coming up (my Rufus will be performing for it, also.) "... and Obie-winning, actor-singer John Kelly performing his traditional (and very moving) closing number, Wigstock, which is lofted from Joni Mitchell's "woodstock." "I may shed a tear," Kelly admits. "But it is hard to sing and cry at the same time."
