i have just realized that i made the most unforgivable omission. it is
particularly horrible for two reasons: the birthday was almost a month ago
and the birthday person is one of my favorite people on earth. how this came
to pass, i will never know.
so:
dear MARY PITASSI: happy [oh so late so late so late!] birthday! i have
always liked and learned so much from your posts. please forgive me.
to the rest of the well wishers: mary's birthday was august 26!!!! she will
probably never speak to me again. and i deserve it.
