Hi Garret, That's the kind of intellectual curiosity I like. John Mc Laughlin is from the U.K. He was discovered by Miles Davis and became Miles' guitarist in 1970 at age 20 (or so)! He ran the gamut from electric jazz/fusion (Mahavishnu Orchestra in early 70's), to Indian/jazz music (Shakti in mid 70's) to classical/jazz (Mediterranean Concerto in the 80's) to .....you name it. I'm so glad he re-formed Shakti 2-3 years ago with the incredible Zakir Hussain on tablas, I always thought this was his best work. He's one of the best jazz guitarist alive, although sometimes a little too intellectual and lacking in emotion (with all due respect). Lotus Feet is a beautiful soft piece with strange harmonies.
