My fondest memory of George was in 1971 when he organized the concert for the refugees of Bangla-Desh. And then there was those Traveling Wilburys....... My brother Richard and I picked up this hippie hitchhiker (Robert) from Colorado (yeah, we can upon a child of God) He was tall, long blonde hair and blue eyed. Not too bad on the eye. Rob ended up renting an apartment in an old victorian house not far from where we lived. We met again one day and he became a very good friend to me. Was this fate? I would bring over my Joni albums to play and I remember him saying one day after listening to Blue that he thought that something had happened to Joni for which she just couldn't handle. He knew how much I loved Harrison and surprised me one day with tickets to the Bangla Desh concert at MSG in NYC. There are some people who have touched and made an impact on my life in some way and Rob was one of these people. Then there are those whose lives touched the hearts of humanity and George was one of these people. It's rainy and cloudy here in NJ as well Bob and a Blue Moon tonight. Very appropriate indeed. My I Ching tells me today; the king has attained abundance. be not be sad . be like the miday sun.
