I kept looking at the web site, thinking 'this has got to be a joke' - were they for real?? in other words, did they think they were promoting good poetry??
has the onion ever published any poetry? that would be very interesting. my theory is that modern poetry sucks because the gifted poets are all writing song lyrics. Please do NOT take this to mean that I think all song lyrics are outstanding. To the contrary. do you all enjoy reading poetry, as opposed to song lyrics? if so, whose? I like bits and pieces of it (a little Yeats, a little Wordsworth, etc) but overall, I'm much more into song lyrics.
