Thanks Fred and Brenda, i just discovered the concept of digital downloads!! And apparently you can even get songs this way!! The mind boggles at the use of technology sometimes!!! I had never understood this phrase, although i'm sure i have come across it before. When i have more time i intend to shop around on these sites a little more! We got the songs we needed, more or less. We needed Annies Song (this is the only song we used at last year's service) which wasn't hard to find, but that other song, theVanessa Williams one, is pretty elusive (although personally i'm gald we couldn't find that one; my mother and i aren't to into the idea of this; but hey, everyone to their own!). Mostly they were traditional arrangments we needed; church songs, including amazing grace and ave maria. I did get a pointer from another JMDLer to a site with some of the hymns needed for the service! Indeed, when we saw the choice on offer we felt spoilt! And there was me (selfishly) trying to get Joni in there somewhere; but even i had to admit that she really doesn't have anything that suits both the atmosphere of the occasion and the type of music the family could find palatable. Although, they did consider the arguement i made for cat stevens! We really tried to get a song called "auntie maggies remedy", but couldn't find it. that would have been ideal, but we're happy with what we have already.
One more request: i'm looking for a few short lines (from a poem, a song, whatever) to do, perhaps, with keeping somebody special in memory, and/or to do with wedding bells, and/or love in general. I'm not too sure what i want really; it's to put in the notices section of the newspaper. This is all a last minute arrangement and unfortunately i'm totally stuck for suggestions! I'm sure there's someone on the list that can make some great suggestions or give some good advice! There always is:) Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thanks. GARRET
