Well!  There are a number of ways to interpret that question, but I'll keep
it seemly, for the sake of those more delicate JMDLers!

Thanks for your concern, Colin.  It's rather ironic that the country closest
to us is having major problems with bush fires!  The floods have not
affected Auckland - they're mainly confined to those towns/areas near areas
of native bush, and hilly terrain.  But those areas hit have been hit pretty
hard.  Massive flooding and land-slides taking out roads, bridges, etc.
It's amazing to think we were facing a power crisis six months ago (in the
middle of winter) because the water levels in our hydro-electric lakes were
so low!

This is pretty typical January weather, though.  Rain for four days, then
clear blue skies for a couple of days, then back to more rain!  Anyone
considering visiting New Zealand, and wants to see it in summer, should be
warned that February - late March is a much better time, and there's far
more chance of getting good weather!
