Here in Spain a computer has two genders, or rather has two translations which have different genders. You can say 'la computadora' or 'el ordenador'. The second one is used more, possibly to avoid the 'puta' bit, but that's just my theory... mike in Barcelona np Annie Whitehead 'Naked'
