As if the world need another '100 Best...' list, Q have decided to publish a book of The 100 Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Photographs.
I saw it last week and picked it up to see if there was an index or contents so I could check for a Joni photo, and mysteriously it just fell open on Joni photo. Eerie happenings!!! Perhaps another jmdler had been in HMV before me(?) The photo is one I hadn't seen before of Joni hugging Leonard Cohen backstage at the 1967 Newport Folk Festival taken by David Gahr. It also has some text by Gahr himself explaining the shot, but I'm afraid I can't remember much of it, and I can't afford to buy the book until I get a job. I remember that it said Joni wasn't performing that year, but had shown up for the songwriting workshop that was happening backstage. I bet that was quite something.
