Hey, Bob, SO glad you went to the Dylan show! Your review was, as usual, perfect. Dylan is doing - and has been doing for a couple of years now - wonderful shows night after night, while varying the set list considerably. The band has been with him for such a long time now (aside from his in-the-pocket new drummer) that he can call just about any tune in his repertoire, original or obscure cover.
We got a nice little bonus at the Tampa show on 2/2/02. Dickey Betts walked out with Les Paul in tow to jam with Sexton and Campbell (and, of course, Bob the "lead guitarist"), on "Rainy Day Women." They turned the house lights up, it became that much more of a party and "love-in," and a truly great time was had by all. This was a couple of songs prior to the end of the set proper, after which there was the now standard-length six-song encore (which also varies from night to night, selections-wise). What a great show! All of the others in 2001 and 2002 have been, too. Anyway, greetings from "the sunshine state." (Hi, Jimmy.) Long time, no talk. (Boston) Jim NP: "Proof," Pat Metheny Group, Speaking Of Now (just released, and "super fine!")
