Quite a few, actually, but the only other prominent Joni was Joni James, a pop vocalist from the 50's. Before our time, Marian! ;~) Honorable mention: Joni Sledge, one of the Sledge Sisters who recorded "We Are Family" But in reality you are right, Marian...Joni is one of the few artists who can be identified by a single word, not because she chose to be (like Madonna or Cher) but because her talent merits it.
