I was a huge Yes fan back in the day, and Relayer remains my 
favorite. Perhaps it sounds like #%$$# at first listen because it's 
their most adventurous album. They broke new ground on that record 
that no band has followed up on (the shifting tempi and superimposed 
time signatures in "Sound Chaser," for instance). Guitarist Steve 
Howe was at an aggressive peak, and Pat Moraz (keyboardist for that 
album only) raised the bar for synthesizer solos.
