A special friend who is a dedicated social worker in New York just alerted
me to an exhibit of Joni's paintings at the Whitney Museum in New York City
from June 20 to Sept. 29. A flyer was sent out by the "high5tix.org" which
is a program offering high school kids tickets to cultural events and it
listed this summertime offering of Joni's art. "The Paintings of Joni
Mitchell." The Whitney traces Joni Mitchell's remarkable career from 1951
on. Her highly charged paintings, explosive but delicate, reveal a fierce
dedication to art and distinctive vision of Abstract Expressionism in a
field dominated by men.
June20- Sept 29, Tues.-Thurs., Sat.-Sun., 11am-6pm. Friday 1-9pm with
youth2youth tours from 5-6pm. 945 Madison Ave. @ 75th.
