I don't know for sure either but that sounds correct. Royalty rates were the
reason The Beatles' albums contained fewer songs when originally released in
the USA than in the UK. In the UK they got royalties based on songs per
album, here it was the number of albums put out. Therefore Capitol Records
thinned out the number of songs and released more albums in the US than in
the UK.
