hi

ive just been reading through "the science of discworld" by terry pratchet,
ian stewart, & jack cohen.

its kind of scientific (i actually wouldnt know if they were really taking
the piss) & has a chapter called "we are stardust (or at least we went
to woodstock) where they give this whole long technical spiel about the
different elements, and the periodic table, and how the elements came into
being as a result of the big bang, and the effect of the reaction in stars.
(definitely the most technical book ive read since i stopped studying)

i quote "Anyway the point is that most of the atoms from which you are made
must have come into being in a star. As Joni Mitchell sang at woodstock:
"We are stardust"."

there is a footnote which says "Ask Mummy or Daddy if you have no idea what
were talking about"

So now that the scientists know that Joni is siquomb, maybe someone (mummy
or daddy???) will explain to them about her never quite making it to
woodstock (tho personally i think shes been in her own private garden for
quite some time....)
