It was so sweet to hear of you stopping by May's. I had two episodes of feeling that same strong presence while you all were at the Fest. I know it must have been powerful to reach me all the way over here and thanks for sending it out ;-) The first time was last Thursday night when JMDLer Gary Zack (of the incredible voice) invited me out to a funky landmark German place with the perfect piano man. Gary got up an sang Both Sides Now and Fire and Rain and then the piano man started in on our old staples "Southern Man" and "Love the One You're With" and suddenly everything morphed (piano man turned into Paz and ChuckE)and I transported back to Fests past. Then on Sunday a friend took me up to a beautiful little village in the Los Padres National Forest that had the perfect neighborhood bar overlooking the mountains and meadows and I swear I heard "strains of Victor Johnson coming through the Pinon Pines." It was like a combination of Atty May's and the Catskills (and the bar defies the smoking laws, which also made me feel like I was in another state ;-) As for your rude jolt with Plum Islands' finest, all I could do was smile and wax nostalgic. When I sensed the gasping in the posts about the incredible music, I went back and looked up the performance schedule and said "well but of course!" I'm so sorry to have missed what I know had to be indescribable performances. Congratulations to you all on your very magical time.
