Fisher Price Selected To Provide New Florida Voting System You are all aware of all the problems Florida has had with voter confusion. It seems that no matter what scheme is used to let people cast votes, the votes get called into question because people didn't understand how to cast their votes.
In response to this problem the Florida Elections Commission has awarded Fisher-Price the contract to develop a "less confusing balloting system." The Commission has accepted Fisher-Price's proposed system that is based on their classic See 'n Say toys. "It's really quite simple," spokeswoman Liz Holden explained. "All you have to do is turn the pointer towards the candidate of your choice and cast your vote by pulling the string. Then the voice of the candidate comes on and says, for example, "Al Gore says, 'You have voted for me.'" The system has been successfully tested on Kindergarten children. They will next test it on the Early Bird Special crowd at a Palm Beach Denny's. Playskool was also asked to submit a proposal but their plan, based on the popular Poundin' Bedbugs toy, where a vote is cast by pounding the plastic head of the chosen candidate using a small hammer, was rejected as being "far too complex."
