I just read the *actual* Rolling Stone interview - not the *purported*
RS interview - with Joni and it is 1800 removed from what has been
reported. I thought the reviewer was awe struck and fair, and Joni was
very pleasantly Joni, not the bitching whining shrew that was kind of
predicted. And Joni on Britney and Christina? "They're sweet." This
article was Joni at her best, a very lovable Joni who gave some good
insights, shares her opinions, and comes across very well. RS did a
good job for Joni.

And in the 50 essential women's rock albums of ALL TIME., each artist
with one listing, Joni gets #2 for Blue, second only to Aretha
Franklin. That is a damned fine ranking.

The reality was much different than what was predicted, and I am saving
this issue of RS as a Joni keepsake because it is Joni, pure Joni at her
best. RS was good to her. And Joni comes across so well in RS.

And yes, I get po'ed at RS sometimes, but I still read RS all the time,
have a subscription, because I get a lot of music news as well as real
in-depth reporting on non-musical issues of importance.
