Nowhere near a majority, not even close ... only 39% of potential voters
voted, a little more than half of these for Republicans. So this alleged
"majority" is only a bit over 20% of all potential voters.

And this doesn't begin to take into account that most people are woefully
undereducated and/or mis-educated (like Terry Nichols' brother, who, when
asked by Michael Moore, "Why not emulate Gandhi? He overthrew the British
empire without firing a shot" responded, "I'm not familiar with that") ...
they get their information from mass market media owned by large corporations
in bed with the government. (Dis)information which is ultimately orchestrated
by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, & Rice (not exactly CSN&Y, huh?) in their
sleight-of-hand dog and pony show.

Which reminds me of a great cartoon I saw recently. It was an opinion poll,
expressed in a successive series of pie-charts, the first asking: would you
support an invasion of Iraq? -- and 90% of the American public responds
"yes," the next asking: would you support the invasion even if it meant
significant American casualties? -- and 65% respond "yes," then: would you
support an invasion even if our allies oppose us? -- 35% say "yes," then:
would you support an invasion even if it destabilizes the entire Mideast
region? -- 25% now say "yes," and, finally, would you support an invasion
even if it meant dangerous nation-building requiring years of military
presence and billions of our tax dollars? -- and there is a tiny sliver of
the pie left representing those still responding "yes," which turns out to be
only 4 people: Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, & Rice.
