English s/ser Anne Lister has a beautiful song called "Icarus" that has been covered by Martin Simpson and a bunch of other folks. US s/ser Richard Berman has a song (title slips my mind) based on the famous painting of a farmer unconcernedly plowing his field, while off in the distance Icarus falls to the sea. It is a very powerful myth.
