I recently bought some sennheiser 'phones and although they are nowhere near
top of the range (HD497s) they are a MAJOR improvement on what I had before. I
thought about what song to put on to test them and finally chose 'Proof' from
Pat Metheny's splendid recent album, 'Speaking of Now'. Sensational
difference. Looking back on his career as a writer and musician I really think
that future generations will talk Pat Metheny in the same way as we talk now
of Miles, Coltrane, and Parker. 'Speaking of Now' has to be my album of the
year. I really think you should listen to it (copyright Fred Simon). Does
music get any better? (ditto)
