this is for roberto, wally, jerry, anyone who's into something a little
campy, a little historic, with some opera content.  i never heard of this
woman before yesterday, but she was a dietrich type who never became popular
in the states, but was huge in germany and some of europe, and had a career
that went from 1931 to 1972.  

lowest voice i've ever heard in a woman, and it is so intriguing...  the
article includes links to about 6 mp3s, includingone of her singing
'wunderbar', which was her signature tune, and a german version of 'send in
the clowns' that is absolutely riveting.
