Dearest Clarissa, I believe that my beloved greyhound, Anastasia, reincarnation of Michael Erchak, your most precious and beloved grandfather, is dieing ( I never know how to spell that death word correctly, is it dying?, yes it is, I think). I have decided against bringing her to the emergency clinic. She is not suffering or vomiting and she survived the 8 pound tumor removal last year. Last week when Gerald was here he said," I've never seen Ana do this". She was pawing him. It takes a while to know greyhounds. It comes at an odd time, yet not so odd considering..... I talked to my mother (your grandmother) today at your mother's persistence. After my "mother" called me back as she so inevitably does, I said "here we are again", why doesn't your mum get it AT ALL. And then Ana got sick which I had been noticing and I remember my my father saying there is nothing you can do. There is a Joni Mitchell song "Nothing Can Be Done" which rings true. I can guarentee you that you will go into your next celebrated year on the planet with a great introduction and hopefully lifelong appreciation for Joni Mitchell. For those of us that were lucky enough to grow up with her and have her as an inregral part of our lives, we were blessed, but believe you me, do a little research and you will see that Joni Mitchell is and will be one of the greatest composers, songwriters, musicians, guitarists, vocalists and all time incredible artists of our time and all time. I love you, Andrea
