the returns is probably the greatest masterpiece ever written (all right, you all know my tendency to hyperbole). but that voice, that voice... when she says the second ''so close'' you think she's about to break into a million pieces. long before i had a cd player, i made a tape of rickie's most melancholy songs: on saturday afternoons in 1963 after hours skeletons the returns deep space i recorded them in that sequence over and over, on both sides of the tape. of course, nowadays i just program and press repeat. try it if you dare. wallyK
