And I do too...which is why it would be one of top ten "fly on the wall" picks. I know from listening to recordings that she makes changes even after she gets her songs to performance level. > Of course I am a huge day dreamer and I lose my best stuff on the train or walking >home. Well, maybe we should start an "old & burnt out" discussion list! :~) I've had great ideas pop into my head (usually while I'm running) for a song lyric, a short story, a play...but when I try to recall them they're gone. > Screw Smurph, No, that was YOUR assignment, O Keeper of the Golden Eggs! :~) > Can Dinah and a duet be far behind? Funny you mention Dinah...I'm doing a favor for the Mom of one of our best friends in town. When I told her I could burn CD's from LP's she asked if she could send me some of her favorites, and of course, not knowing HOW to say the "n" word, I said "yes". Dreading a box full of Dean Martin & Mantovani records, or worse, country music (she lives in rural West Virginia), I was extremely delighted to find the box full of obscure Brook Benton & Dinah Washington records, as well as the Rooftop Singers ("Walk Right In") which I also found to be pretty cool. To add some JC, I was reading the liner notes to the Rooftop Singers LP, which was issued by Vanguard who also had Buffy Sainte-Marie & Joan Baez in their stable and who courted Joni, but she turned them down as they were demanding 2-3 records a year! Maybe if she had signed with them, at least at first, all those early songs would have been released! Bob NP: Guv'ner, "Help Me"
