I just saw this movie last week with that "new woman."  She had seen the movie already 
but really
wanted to see it again.  I thought the performances were masterful.  Yes in this case 
I must give
it up for Nicole, but I felt that Meryl and Julianne were just as brilliant.  The 
surprise for me
is Ed Harris.  Since I saw him  in Pollock and with this performance, he steps into a 
much higher
echelon for me.  I was stunned by his performance - and I usually like the girls!

But the weaving of this story is so original and fresh and brilliant.  This film along 
with Frida,
should prove to Hollywood and producers that art films and indie films can find 
audiences and be
successful both articstically and commercially.  

And yes Lama, it is depressing and it almost romanticizes it - in a way.  Glad I 
didn't see this a
few years ago!  Otherwise I never would have channeled Ethel!
