debra has found, i think, a perfect place to serve as a meeting spot saturday night after the marathon. i quote:
Another place, which is my first choice, is City Diner on the corner of Broadway and 90th Street. <snip> on the west side of Broadway, same side as Symphony Space so there's no way anyone could get lost. This is a big place, open 24 hours a day, serves alcohol and since it's a diner, has every kind of food possible. I talked to the manager there who said groups of 6-7 are usually seated at the big round table in the corner by the window. --- This does sound fantastic, and i really appreciate debra's research. i think we should plan on it. as for the marathon, bob's info regarding membership priveleges makes the thought very attractive. i think i'll go up after work tomorrow and buy one. i'll be arriving at symphony space around 2 pm, dealing with whatever delay happens. i'll look around for listers. i don't know if i'll last the whole time (nine hours of anything kind of makes my teeth hurt at the thought.) but i hope everyone who's there meets us at city diner some time after 11 pm saturday. patrick np - adams, el niqo, which i just heard and saw live in its new york premiere earlier this evening. what a profound, amazing piece of music! plus, any time i get to hear dawn upshaw and lorraine hunt live is a keeper memory.
