A Joomla/Front End Developer/Analyst will work as part of a newly formed sub-team of Joomla developers within a larger team of Ruby on Rails developers. This team will be initially comprised of a Manager and 1-2 Analysts. The Joomla Developer/Analyst will work closely with the Marketing, Business Analysis and other Developer teams to do production support on our existing Joomla implementation and work on projects to further integrate the front end into the Joomla platform.

An ideal candidate would have substantial experience developing mid-to-large scale Joomla sites, especially those that integrated with other platforms and enterprise applications.

*Essential Functions*

    * Work with the Joomla manager and the BA team to estimate and
      build and unit test initiatives requiring Joomla
          o Create technical designs of new initiatives for approval
            by the CTO, System Architect and Tech leads
          o Communicate limitations of using Joomla for various
            initiatives
          o Work with Ruby on Rails developers to specify and advise
            on creating APIs to share information between enterprise
            applications and Joomla
          o Code Joomla initiatives, which may include partnering with
            third party development shops
    * Be a resource for the Marketing producers who use Joomla on a
      regular basis for questions and enhancements to the existing
      Joomla implementation
    * Be available for production support of Joomla-driven portions of
      websites
    * Help optimize the loading of the Front End website
    * Do Front-End web development, turning screenmocks into
      HTML/CSS/Javascript prototypes
    * Do Flash/Actionscript development of promotional elements

*Qualifications*

Candidate must be team-focused, results-oriented and driven to achieve a high level of client and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has experience in a large company as well as experience taking a small/medium sized company through a growth phase. Valuable experience would include working on a team developing a Joomla website from the ground up.

*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*

    * Expert knowledge of PHP and Joomla
    * Expert knowledge of MySQL
    * Front end web development: HTML, CSS, Javascript and Ajax
    * Familiarity with source code management and deployment tools
    * Familiarity with testing tools and ticketing systems
    * Ability to analyze and understand complex workflows and
      processes, and develop innovative approaches to streamlining and
      automating them
    * Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
      with both technical and non-technical audiences
    * Desired but not required skills include: Flash, ActionScript,
      XML, Ruby on Rails,
