One measure could be to enable debug logging with slf4j or log4j. jOOQ is
quite verbose about what it does, internally:
http://www.jooq.org/doc/latest/manual/sql-execution/logging

In edge-cases, you can even enable trace logging to also see all bind
values per statement. Don't activate that by default, though!
