Hmm, Confessions!!!!!

1990 The bell prefect work up at 5AM as usual and found no bell to ring. That
was because I, Babi and Joseph had been playing poker till 4am and there was no
way we were going to wake up at 5am to go jogging in the cold. So we hid the
bell in the gutter some 1KM away.

Needless to say it was good the whole school had a good rest that day,
surprised it took almost an 1hr 30 mins for the Commandant and A.O to fashion
out the old village style gongs as an alternative to waking every one up hostel
by hostel.

Would you like to know who planned the 1990 riot, a day after the Chief of Army
Staff had declared CSSJ Jos the second most disciplined school in Nigeria after
NMS.

Who was behind the two ghosts in the Corn farm in 1991?

Who started the CSSJ vs FGC Jos street fight after Lit and Deb night 1991?

Mine is not so much of a confession, but more of an apology. During the
extension period for the class of 88 graduates, some boys snug into the girls
dom; I remember names like. Obote and our dear belated Eno Ikomi were amongst.
Well the boys concluded their mission and left with excitements of
accomplishment, but guess what, words got to the authorities the very next day
and so the commandant, Ajayi then, wanted names of the culprits. The first
person he summoned to supply the names was Alison Ephraim ( I think, not so
sure now) well she smartly got herself out by saying that she had been studying
and had not observed the invasion. The commandant then asked for the prefects
who were in the hostel at the time...that was how I was summoned to supply the
names.
Now all of these boys were good friends and I knew that the consequences would
not be pretty for them, but here I was torn between loyalty to my friends and
my responsibilities as a prefect; if I said I didn't know the boys, the
commandant would know I was lying, so I chose dignity over loyalty. The boys
were sent out of the school immediately, they were allowed to write their waec
but as external students.
Now this broke me more deeply than I think anyone ever really knew, a lot of
people stopped talking to me for a while, and even I almost stopped talking to
myself; that I had to leave school on that kind of note. Was a terrible burden
for me.
Luckily for me, a few people did forgive me on their own, Eno Ikomi actually
came to visit me at home a few months after we graduated, I was really grateful
for that, but I never really got the tell the boys how terribly sorry I was.
So boys of '88 I am very sorry, I know you all have forgiven me long ago, and
some may not even remember this incidence, but this is something I have aways
wanted to do, please accept my apologies.

Snr Mmaette,
Ha are u sure we r ready to go down that road "confessions"..am sure a lot of
us did things that looking back now, we won't be to proud of...I remember I
once gave my senior (don't want to mention his name else he will have a fit)
water from the water closet shank..to drink, am sure u all remember those giant
bugs, and foam soaked in the water used to clean up after doing ur
bizness..anyway we came back frm prep nd he demanded we get him drinking water
when non was available, after much flogin et all..I got my bed sheet did some
sifting and gave him water..guess what? He asked for more..nd I gladly obliged
him...that was the worst night of my life cos I was sure he would be dead by
morning..but alas he did not die..rather he flogged me of my bed for jogging
the following morning...but if any of my juniors ever wondered y I never send
them to get me water to drink? Now u know...any other confessions out there???
Pls do tell.
What happened to senior Ariyike's gari??

Well how about we search for the persons that stole Ariyike's garri back then?
Wouldn't it be interesting?
You heard her story, common we have nothing to lose now, so go on and confess.

Well i was already out of command by then but i remember that the ban on garri
started in the time of Col Ayoola.
I remember we arrived with the school bus from the airport that term, must have
been in 1985 not quite sure and was told that everybody had to be checked at
the administrative block to be sure that we had all that was in the school
prospectus for the term and then a notice was also placed that no one was
allowed in with garri.
I also remember that for the first time since i got into command in 1983 i had
almost half a bag of garri that term, i decided to hide it outside while the
check was going on inside the staff room, i was luck to get away without being
catch then the next hurdle was to get it pass the perfects at the gate of the
hostel  i realised it was going to be a very difficult task so i hide it behind
the assemble hall hoping to go back for it later at night. my friends and i
thot it was a well thought out plan until.......
