1. Terms of Reference
1.1. To
conduct elections into elective offices of the Abuja Branch.
1.2. Determine
and set guidelines for the elections.
1.3. To
brief the Bracnh on the modalities of the election during the October Branch
Meeting.
1.4. To
conduct the election during the November meeting and swearing-in of the new
Executives of the Branch.

3. Election Guidelines
3.1. List
of Positions (as stipulated in Article 7 of the Constitution)
3.1.1. President
3.1.2. Vice
President
3.1.3. Secretary

3.1.6. Treasurer
3.1.7. Director of Publicity
3.1.8. Director of Socials
3.1.9. Marshall
3.2. Minimum of five (5) positions must have nominations
before elections are organized.
3.3. Eligibility
Requirements
3.3.1. Article
9 Section 1 of the Constitution applies.
3.3.2. However
the following Sections will be suspended in the up-coming Elections of
the Abuja Chapter:
3.3.2.1.Article 9 Sections 1c, 1e, 1i, 1j,
1k, 1m and the whole of Article 9 Section 2.
3.3.2.2.These suspended sections are being
replaced by the requirements spelt out below.
3.3.3. ELIGIBLE
CANDIDATES
3.3.3.1.Must have registered with the Abuja
Chapter.
3.3.3.2.Must have spent at least three years
in Command Secondary School , Jos.
3.3.3.3.Must have attended a minimum of 4 Meetings
of the Chapter.
3.3.3.4.Must be recommended in their
Nomination Form by one of their Set Mates who is a registered member of the
Abuja Chapter.
3.3.3.5.Must not
be subject to any disciplinary action by the Association at the time of his or
her nomination.
3.3.3.6.No more
than one member of a household may serve on the Executive Committee at a time.
3.3.4. ELIGIBLE VOTERS
3.3.4.1.Must have registered with the Abuja
Chapter.
3.3.4.2.Must have attended a minimum of 2
Meetings of the Chapter.
4. Nominations Form
4.1. Nomination
Forms are available at a cost of N1,000.
4.2. Must
be filled and submitted to members of COMMANDECO before 7pm on Saturday 5th of
November 2011.
4.3. Nomination
forms cannot be collected or submitted by proxy.
5. Election Day
5.1. Accreditation
of Voters starts by 2pm - 3pm prompt.
5.2. Presentation
of Manifesto (3 minutes each) followed by Questions and Answers Session.
5.3. Reading
of Voting Rules and Regulations.
5.4. Election
commences by 3:30pm.
5.5. Voting
Method: Secret Ballot.
5.6. Winner
will emerge by simple majority.
5.7. There
will be a run-off Election if:
5.7.1. Two
or more Candidates score the highest votes AND have the same number of Votes.
5.7.2. The
run-off will be between those with the highest votes to determine a clear
winner.
