Our projects will be successful no matter what. Let us show we can do things
right. Probe is not the only word in my hurriedly typed message to you
distinguished commandos. Please circulate and let think to put structures that
will fulfil our goals in place and not donations that will only be known on
date of commissioning.Let professionals come on board, managers, accountants,
administrators, lawyers, negotiators and the likes who are truely exposed to
management and administrations. Please you dont have to talk on every issue
just when u feel your expertise will count. It wont do any good talking down on
sensitive issues on which we dont have exposure. I will implore u to read my
words which have been tagged 'the probe issue' i will blow the whistle again
and i hope it wont be necessary in future because we will have put in place a
structure that will not celebrate corruption. The army does show that they are
not happy with the administration of our school thats why the commandants are
changed in such quick and short intervals. We will only be puting controls to
check and balance activities with set standards. Probing will be done by those
with the authority by the time we request for the proper management of our
investment especially if we make this laudable project a continous and
permanent project. ALL HAIL TO THE INITIATORS. It will surely surpass the
target and bring the improved standard we wish. Consequently, it is suggested
that all set coordinators open a current account with a global bank (preferably
the manager can decide on a particular bank for all) and cicularise the bank
details for every set member to pay into independently and forward the teller
to the coordinator for reconciliation withthe bank and for publication to
encourage others and for accountability. It is important to note that no
withdrawal should be made from the account for any expense except cost of
cheque book even though the account is in the name of the set coordinator, the
coordinators should subscribe for free internet banking for monitoring
lodgements into the accounts. The managers may then call for the returns on the
account as a decision of committee.I am of the opinion that this will help to
reach every one and ensure transparency that will encourage independent
philantro and organisations to join us in this and maintain our integrity. Pls
review.

Johnnnnnnn. (our lagos secretary)
Welldone.
I have seen the photos by President & VP on the visit to ComJos.
It will provoke 'questions' How did it get this BAD? I wonder if it won't be
necessary to probe the various school administrators to find out how they feel
to get paid for keeping children in such dorm facility and window dress the
admin block, painting outside walls of hostel & classroom and fence while the
inside is almost giving in; Cooking and serving future leaders in conditions
our pets will not accept. I trust Ariike and Vivian to get professional
investigatory documentary of the good days and relate to the present to prick
everyone's concience on how they played to bring our once great school to this.
As we call everyone to put their shoulders to the wheel to bring a lasting
change in the direction of better living standards for the student and
consequently improved academics.
Lets look at the possibility of getting some assurances that the school
management has been managing funds as budgeted.
Lets seek Army Education's stake, ask them to set standards for us to monitor
the performances of the school management vis a vis resources from schl fee and
army allocations. And the proposed 'Intervention/Bailout' from commandos. And
motivation rewards and otherwise for performance. At least let the army assure
us that a particular commandant will be allowed to see a set through from Js1
to graduation so as to say this is his result at the end of his tenure and
ensure stability in management. That that is the dividend for the investment we
are bringing in.
Let us all say something to bring about new reasoning to make our school
administrators like Dr. Falade, Mrs Sawa, Mrs Lawal, Mrs Arhudese, Mr. Bamidele
and others who taught us and are still in service in the school to feel free to
let the military administrators listen to their informed advise on how we were
administered to be so proud of the school we now desperately seek to
resuscitate.
I pray the Lord grant every Commandos the favour and wisdom to contribute
significantly to achieve the end we hope for.
Happy convention Americas
Weldone to All.

Subject: [Jos Commandos] Update on the President/Vice (Ex) visit to CSSJ &
COJOSA
Dear Commandos,
Let me respectfully thank my seniors, our elder statesmen and my COJOSA
colleagues who have in no small measure inspired great contributions to our
Alma mater; Victor Okhai, Kofo, Dennis, Ugo Ben, Mike Agana, Tunde Okikiolu,
Mary Tombiri, Vivian, Andrew Akhidenor, Tope Ojo, Tony Akhidenor, CMDR Hassan,
Brigeni, Tajudeen Yahaya, Ngozi, Ariyike, the big Harold Nwariaku, the great
Ibrahim Kadiri, Mike Densah, Our ever ready Ikenna Mbanefo and many others that
space would not permit me to mention.
I would also want to thank our EX-EXCO members who have served faithfully and
committedly, not forgetting Bimbo Kwashi and Bamidele Ajibola who have been so
very encouraging.
Respect also goes to one of us who passed on, but was ever faithful
contributing what he can in the COJOSA he believed in - Late Elvis Odibo.
Our EX President and Vice paid a fact finding visit to CSSJ on Thursday/Friday
29/30th of September. They met with the Commandant Lt Col AP Oguntola, who gave
them a very warm reception and facilitated a thorough inspection of the school.
Many pictures were taken and a lot of useful information noted. The pictures
and other details have been arranged in a presentation format and would be
compressed for delivery to our branches including the US and the UK-IRL.
Further to this the present Working committee have been offered a tremendous
help by our great members; Vivian Akiyosoye and Ariyike Oladapo to carry out a
video documentary of the state of the school. All these is in a bid towards
preparing us for the giving back campaign.
Much thanks to our UK-IRL chapter who initiated the campaign and we are indeed
grateful that many of us are beginning to see the need to be a part of this
campaign; the US, PH, Abuja and Lagos. We all know what Command Jos used to be.
For those who do not know, Command Jos was amongst the best secondary schools
in the country, if not the best in the 80s. It was the pride of the Military as
noted by Gen Danjuma. In academics we topped Plateau State, in sports no school
could rival Command Jos, whether Football, hand ball (Ohh i remember Snr Miky
Onwokocha with his leap and strides when he is to hit the net), (ohh i remember
Gbenga, Sme Sme in the boys 4X 100m and ofcourse our admirable Senior Mary
Tombiri).........we were the best. In the days of Lt-Col Ayoola, our desk,
bunks, hostel louvers, field lawns were new and well maintained, Hilcrest only
rivaled us in the serenity of the school compound. Today the story is
different, only pictures can tell
the story of what is today. It is pathetic !!!!!! to say the least.
Our COJOSA North America will be hosting their 2nd Annual convention and the
state of the school will form part of their agenda, those who will want to hook
up with the convention can do so via SKYPE. Search for COJOSA North America and
a request for permission to join via conferencing. It kicks off at 9am and 2PM
our time zone in Nigeria.
On this same issue and others, Lagos Branch will be called to a meeting this
month end for us to discuss. Please be prepared and begin to get others
intimated.
Once we have the first visit presentations done, we will send it out as
mentioned for our digestion.
Many thanks once again to all those whose hands are on deck to lift our school
and give our Alma mater a name.
Best Regards
John Akadang, 88, FHH
Member working committee Lagos Branch (Ex Sec Gen)
