Hello friends,

your dreamer is back again with a little sharing this
time. This happened when I was working as a staff nurse
in mangalore.

We had a very good jy core group in the hospital
comprising of nurses, paramedics and all catagory of
staff and students.

We had made this a habbit of proclaiming our Lord to
our patients especially at times when they were in the
most vulnerable positions(like severe pain....etc)
There were some girls who were so spiritfilled that
they were able to tackle such situations so tactfully
without hurting anyones feelings or getting into
arguements.

Once there was this nonchristian(a brahmin) who was
admitted to the hospital with total paralysis because
of which he was bedridden. He was the only earning
member of the family and there was no hope from them.

We visited him regularly, told him stories from
bible, prayed for him and with him and very soon we
were all very fond of him and he of us.We didnt think
much of all this as this was our regular routine but
what touched us most was when he on the 3rd day told
us this sentence"I thank the Lord for my sickness. If
I wasnt paralysed I wouldnt have come to the hospital,
and if I wouldnt have come, I would never have known
Jesus".We were shocked and pleasently surprised
hearing this from a person, who was disabled for life
and had no means of bread for his family.

I just caught the wifes hands gently and looked at her
for her reaction at this comment. She was radiating
with joy, when she gently whispered"Yes! We have found
Jesus,we are so happy, we have found the reason to
live".

We went to evangelise them but came back evangelised
having learnt the sweet lesson, those words even to
this day echo in
my ears.
We were able to witness many such heart touching
events, but one thing which We always noticed was
that, it was very easy to give JESUS to the hindus and
muslims, but very difficult to share with the
christians. The people of other religions are so
receptive.

Many times we have found them keeping Jesus photos
under their pillows and kissing them admist their
tears and pain.

I still dont know what I have given to my patients,
but they definetely have enriched my christian life
with their simplicity and receptiveness.
I cant thank the Almighty Lord enough for having given
me such a profession and patients.

love always,
anita
