Dear JYs I have a Query. Recently my friend asked me this "What comes first Repentance or Salvation ?"
I naturally replied 'Repentance'. Cause in normal course I beleive once u repent for ur sins then u receive salvation from the Lord. Also according to Mathew 9 : 13 Jesus says "for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance". Hence Repentance brings us Salvation. However my friend pointed out to me that Jesus said no one could come to him unless he (or she) is drawn by the Holy SPirit ....you wouldnt realize your lost state, and the need for repentance, unless the Spirit of God awakened that realization in you...This itself is an act of Salvation from God. Hence Salvation comes first and it brings us into Repentance. I am still confused.
