Hai my friends,
I am Siby Varghese from Abu Dhabi, writing just to share my experience since
last November 2001.
I lost my job on 5th November 2001. Searching for a new job I spend almost 5
months in Abu Dhabi and at last I was place in a construction company in
AUH. But things were not easy as I thoght; for I had no chance of getting a
release. The new company tried to get my visa's approval from the Emigration
and I was imformed that the new visa was approved. As imformed, the PRO went
to collect the said approval but they said it was missing. They all tried to
trace it out but could not.(This is what I was told from the new company).
But anyway that was a time I really praised the Lord my God because the
previous company had cancelled my visa with ban of six months. I was happy
to go back home for I beleived that God would lead me. Also I was happy that
I was going to spend a long holidays with my family.
But the New firm wanted me to come back in 3 weeks time and they provided me
a visit visa. As I was preparing to fly back to U.A.E., I got a call from
the company asking me to stay back for 6 months because during "the ban
period the person is not allowed in U.A.E. even for a visit". My wife & me
were so happy to hear it though others were not. We spent sometime in
retreat. we also started praying for the jobless. Four months passed and
there was no possibility of getting a job elsewhere. So I planned to go to
Bombay. But before making a decision, I sent a mail to the company, and in
new few days time I was called asking me to come and join them. Again they
provided me a visit visa. But the early stated problem still existed.
Trusting in Him I booked my ticket to Dubai. But from Trivandrum Airport I
was informed that since the ban exists I will not be permitted to fly. But
I was convinced that I would be able to get through without any trouble.
When I came to the airport, the emigration authority said that even if I
reached Dubai' they would send me back. Since I had the return air ticket I
asked them to allow me to fly and they did so. I began to recite the rosary
till I reached the emigration counter in Dubai. I saw a lady sitting there.
She took my passport turned the 1st page and stamped my visa and let me out.
I was told that this was a rare case that happend. So many are sent back.
Praise the Lord for the grate thing that He has done for me and I thank Him
for the wonderful time he gave me to spend with my family. And now my
employment visa proceedure is going on. Hope that soon it would be OK.
With love
In Christ
