Thanks for the quick reply! I do have internet connection. I'm working on a corporate machine tough on which I don't have admin rights and some stuff is blocked. Maybe that has to with it...

You might want to try to set up Maven proxy in your Eclipse IDE.
If that does not work, I would suggest to try it without copr
firewall/proxy.

Once you get all your dependencies in your local repository,
then you should be able to run the Maven apps even within
the copr firewall/proxy.

I'll try to find some additional info on what's going on related to connectivity.

    Hi,

I'm trying to follow the instructions for LAB-1034 but I cannot
successfully import the Maven sample project. As soon as I press
Finish in the Import Maven Projects dialog a get a popup:

Multiple problems have occurred. Could not calculate build plan:
    Plugin org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.6 or one
of its dependencies could not be resolved: Failed to read artifact
    descriptor for org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:jar:2.6

and a whole bunch of errors, truncated for readability:

CoreException: Could not calculate build plan:[etc...]
Failed to read artifact descriptor for junit:junit:jar:3.8.1
    Failure to transfer
    org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:pom:2.6 from
    https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2
<https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2> was cached in the local
repository, resolution will not be reattempted until the update
interval of central has elapsed or updates are forced.
    Missing artifact junit:junit:jar:3.8.1
Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration:
    org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.1:testCompile
The container 'Maven Dependencies' references non existing library
    'C:\Users\xyz\.m2\repository\junit\junit\3.8.1\junit-3.8.1.jar'

It seems to me either Maven or JUnit is not setup correctly. Am I
missing some prerequisites for the JPassion labs?

    Cheers, Olaf

ps. I'm using Eclipse Mars 4.5.0, Maven 3.3.3, Java 1.7.0_01
