John,

Regardless of the troll vs not troll take. Many people relate rock music with
rebellion and not with business. I asked on another thread if the image was a
social statement resting in the back of the success of a programming tool. I
find it distasteful myself, and the insensitive nature of the image and not
putting a better business image makes me wonder if the powers are serious about
building community or if this is to become a 60's hippie group where technical
advances are social political movements. Hey, it is election year... but
seriously 'dude'... do you have enough business sense to focus on the good
jQuery can do for the internet or would being 'tollerant' be something you
expect but don't offer in return to people who are sensitive to this new image?
Tolerance only works if it is offered publically in both directions.

It appears on the site that someone is thinking community rather than social
activism. (Now, if we are going to feed the poor, stop genocide or something
like that then social activism is great... but the best way to silence this
silly debate is to move on.) With that... thanks for moving the picture off the
site so we can all move on! THANKS a dozen times over.

(another) John

  Hello,

This is a little off topic but I have a few questions that I would
like the share with the dev team:

I was kind of surprise to find out that jQuery's logo and now the
website is linked to rock music! Rock music is known for the most part
to be associated with devils, demons and sexual immoralities. If one
should research the history of they will see the truth behind a lot of
these rock groups and the purpose of their music.

Can someone please explain the mindset behind linking jQuery to rock
music? Is it that everyone one the team is in agreement to the rock
  music branding?
